Can't sleep due to loudass thunderstorm feeding my present Anxiety levels. Very close to being reduced to paniced wails. Trying to hold it together because it is late and Boy has to work tomorrow. I reaaaally don't react well to windy-ass thunderstorms anymore. Sly does not like storms either. He looks up at the celing whenever there is thunder.

So I've been reading kindle books on my iphone. This has been an effective test for if I want an actual kindle. It is DAMN handy to be able to read whatever, whenever, whilst I am out and about in the world. Since I am currently knitting a lace shawl, it requires too much brain to do on a train when I need to be able to just stop that second so I can get off, having something to read always with me is nice.

Granted, I AM a gadget whore, and want a kindle just for the sheer niftiness of it.

Lace shawl: Currently working on a Shipwreck, in Brooks Farm yarn. ( Ravelry Link ) On the second section on lace. Not hard, but I do have to pay attention.

Apartment search is now a decision between 2 complexes - one the floorplans are kind of boring and generic, but cheap. The other is a better floorplan, but more expensive.  They're about the same in size.  I do have to say the living rooms are very poorly designed in the Former complex. All these weird angles.

It has been raining/rainy for days. While I'm sure the rain is good for us, I'm feeling HELLA blah. Headaches too.  I have been catching up on my sleep though since it never really gets light in the bedroom on days like this so I have no indication the sun has risen other than the clock.

Been playing Pokemon off and on. I love my lineup but I freely admit I play for the cute, not the building a badass team.

Right, I do believe it's bedtime. Work tomorrow for the first time this week, boss-lady has been very busy with some charity fashion show she was sort of drafted for, so I haven't gone in this week. Booo lack of money.

Job is awesome though I stabbed myself but GOOD with a pin today. Deep and at an angle RIGHT on the pad of my index finger.  Ow.

There was a wonderful Texas Thunderstorm a little while ago. Then it stopped raining and it was just a lightning storm. (as in flashes every couple of seconds for at least 10 minutes straight.) :D I love that kind of weather! At least when I don't have to be anywhere!

Tomorrow is for crochet and Angelic Layer and a bit of cookery. Got one of those fancy-ass Japanese rice cookers and so far it has not done me wrong.  The timer function is godly. The rice is cooked and done by the time I get up in the morning? Or by the time I get home from Work? AWESOME. Going to make garlic pasta with veggies tomorrow for lunch. trying to avoid oils and fatty foods to see if that helps my tummy any. Today's lunch of onigiri with umeboshi, strawberries, and grape tomatoes was eaten with nary a flutter from the tummy regions after wards. Which reminds me I need to go get more strawberries. I got the carton just to eat yesterday but they work really well in a bento box.  Plus they are on sale. Maybe some other fruit.

Wow. There was a hell of a storm last night, thankfully I live in one of the areas least affected. Mom lives to the southeast and a tree in the neighbor's yard broke in half. My Aunt's town of Brekinridge, Texas (couple hours west of Dallas, aka, 140, 150 miles away) got hit HARD, houses missing their secod stories and so forth. So far eveyone I know is okay.

Explains why I couldn't sleep though. I thought it was just because of the wind and the rain hitting the windows (which doesn't usually happen). I'm TERRIFIED of big storms like that so it was very good we had the windows shut or poor Dave would have been up with me all night whilst I flailed and paniced.

Whee, actually managed to score a couple shirts from threadless during the sale (sadly I am never in time to get pillow fight when it is in stock). Hooray new clothes!!

Having an odd yarn-based slump, creatively speaking. Maybe I'll stick to cross stitch for the time being. Hm.

It has, I shit thee not, rained all goddamn day. I heard American Airlines cancelled all flights into and out of DFW. I think it said some 700 flights were affected. Mucho sucko.

Thinking of playing FF12 again. It's too bad it's not widescreen, but oh well.

(Also I want to kill Will. I've had a Decemberists song stuck in my head for days and I don't usually even like their stuff.)

O_O Thunder! And cold! One of those things that SHOULD NOT BE.

At least it is (slightly) above freezing, so it's not thunder and snow, which will send me to the shelters.

now to cook. bluh.

It is wet and windy and rainy and cold-ish out. Thus making me not want to take out the trash. I know. I'll put it off till we go get food tonight. that will save a trip outside, at least.

It seems fall is making one of it's sporadic appearances. Weather channel says it'll be back in the mid-to-upper 70's by halloween though, so who knows.

uuuuurgh. Finished the caloriemetry, started on the mermaid gloves. My throat has hurt since I got up. I am gonna dig out a coughdrop and make some tea.

Was told I wasn't hired, but they'll be hiring more next month and that I might get hired to be a floor worker then. UGH. Oh well.

Found an american version of a bento box at the grocery store today - for $6 I couldn't resist! I may go back and get the salad one, but that can wait a while. Also bought what extra I needed to make Japanese pickled Cabbage. Mmmmm pickled cabbage. :D Now I have food on the brain - trying to figure out if I wanna go ahead and cook tonight or just say screw it and make the bento lunch tomorrow since I'll be cooking to make the pickles anyway. Hmm hmm hmm. Doesn't help that I'm hungry anyway - been kind of a weirdly psudo-bottomless pit today. I eat a little, get full, wait an hour or two, get hungry again. very odd.

Got a flourescent bulb for the livingroom lamp, only to discover that due to the way the lamp's put together, it doesn't fit. Argh. So the new bulb went into the bedroom where it is kinda too bright, but oh well. Maybe I can make an extension-shade for it or something. This means we hafta go to home despot or something soon, but so it goes. I'm just WAY too tired of it being so dim in the living room. blah. Especially with all the rain we've been getting lately the livingroom's been so dark.

Been doing a lot of reading lately - rereading most of my Discworld books, actually, and it's such a nice change from staring at a screen all day. Of course my knitting urge has picked up dramatically again, so reading and knitting are kind of at odds at the moment. Ah well. I should get more audiobooks.

need to remember to do laundry tomorrow.

So, I should have remembered that taking allergy meds the morning after having taken a muscle relaxant results in my having the general energy-levels of a slug or sloth. I did not remember this fact, however, and now it is a struggle to remain upright. Should the sluggishness continue, I have some ice-cream (Vermonty Python) that I can eat to see if it helps, but otherwise I may be screwed. This rootbeer does not seem to be helping in any way.

need to remember to get my meds refilled tonight.

Sly is having a mighty sulk, and I cannot figure out why. very sad. Perhaps if I end up on the couch he will come sit on/by my feets.

Oh, and Overlord for the 360 looks pretty nifty. Heh.

The sun was out all day yesterday, but today is slightly overcast. It's so weird. It's June! The rain normally has been absent for a few weeks by this point! Granted, I like having the showers and storms, because it keeps it a bit cooler out, but the heat and humidity KILL me. ah well.

blah weather. It's been pretty grey for the past week here, threatening to rain, but only doing so when I'm not looking. Sadly the greyness tends to prompt lethargy in me and I've been sleeping alot. Also there is a pair of crows who've I guess decided to move INTO the complex - they hang out on our building alot and tend to caw in the hallways and such.

also I really wish it would really storm and get it over with - I think the weather's responcible for my dull nagging headache of the past few days.

AND, I'm working on designing my own variation of wallet, and I have deep and burning questions for you all -
[Poll #951899]

Thank youuuus!
