Thoughts on Dragon Age 2 via the demo
  • Combat is nice. I of course played a mage, and WHEE. Ahhh, my beloved Primal spells. FIERY DEAAAAAATH.
  • I am rather fond of Lady!Hawke (snerk) voice.
  • The framework in which the story is told is intriguing, and I think I will like it.
  • Dialogue will take some adjusting to. On the one hand, I reaaaaaaaaaally love Mass Effect, so I know it works, But I still want ladyhawke to say EXACTLY what I pick. Ah well.
  • The redesign of a previously seen character CERTIANLY makes her more awesome looking. I rather like it, but I can see that it might irk people.
I think I will really enjoy the game when it is here (WANT IT NOW) and this has certainly fired up my fantasy gaming engines. I am really interested to see how the world I left as my Grey Warden will affect the things and characters in the new game. There's at least one character that will be VERY affected.

Dear self,

Realizing you're a Phoenix/Edgeworth shipper NOW, when you're well out of any sort of fandom or knowing how to find delicious fanart for it is somewhat frustrating.

Dammit all,
Me

unrelated: Nathan Drake is unbelieveably awesome and I have the biggest crush on him ever, yes I do.

Man, gamer couples must be one of the most ignored demographics in all gamerdom. Half of all multiplayer games don't have split-screen co-op, and the ones that DO don't support a mix of online and same-console play. Case in point - Boy and I are playing Borderlands. WOO! Yay! There's splitscreen mode, console-link, and online play. Hooray hooray, right? You'd think that you could have 2 consoles(and 2 TV's) and play system link and have a nice LAN 4player go? Nope. System-link doesn't have a splitscreen mode, so it's essentially "Have two consoles and TV's and play 2 player!" .. Ugh. Nothing, NOTHING for the 360 is built in such a way where you can have 2 people on one console playing with people over the internet. Gamer couples feel unloved.

So I've been reading kindle books on my iphone. This has been an effective test for if I want an actual kindle. It is DAMN handy to be able to read whatever, whenever, whilst I am out and about in the world. Since I am currently knitting a lace shawl, it requires too much brain to do on a train when I need to be able to just stop that second so I can get off, having something to read always with me is nice.

Granted, I AM a gadget whore, and want a kindle just for the sheer niftiness of it.

Lace shawl: Currently working on a Shipwreck, in Brooks Farm yarn. ( Ravelry Link ) On the second section on lace. Not hard, but I do have to pay attention.

Apartment search is now a decision between 2 complexes - one the floorplans are kind of boring and generic, but cheap. The other is a better floorplan, but more expensive.  They're about the same in size.  I do have to say the living rooms are very poorly designed in the Former complex. All these weird angles.

It has been raining/rainy for days. While I'm sure the rain is good for us, I'm feeling HELLA blah. Headaches too.  I have been catching up on my sleep though since it never really gets light in the bedroom on days like this so I have no indication the sun has risen other than the clock.

Been playing Pokemon off and on. I love my lineup but I freely admit I play for the cute, not the building a badass team.

Right, I do believe it's bedtime. Work tomorrow for the first time this week, boss-lady has been very busy with some charity fashion show she was sort of drafted for, so I haven't gone in this week. Booo lack of money.

There is a Teavana store in Northpark mall. You have no idea how happy that makes me. I got some tea, it is glorious smelling. It tastes good too, but I just want to sit there and smell it.

Got God of War for the PSP. I made it through an entire level before I hit my first "I have no idea how to solve this puzzle" room. Good times. It is suprisingly very God of War, even if it does fit in my purse. (I think I confused the counter guy at Gamestop when we bought it cause he asked if we wanted a bag, and I said "No, I'm gonna tear into it.")

Wrist is giving me vague twinges, but the application of the new brace seems to be doing me a lot of good. Now if I can just figure out what to do so my brace will stop catching on the power slider for the psp and turing my psp off while I'm playing.

Watched Enchanted. It was cute, it was funny, and lord almighty I have never seen so many homages to classic Disney before in my life. (Not to mention the background billboards mostly being plays or movies the actors have been in.) (Also the bit where the actresses who played Ariel and Belle were in the movie too.)

Whee, actually managed to score a couple shirts from threadless during the sale (sadly I am never in time to get pillow fight when it is in stock). Hooray new clothes!!

Having an odd yarn-based slump, creatively speaking. Maybe I'll stick to cross stitch for the time being. Hm.

It has, I shit thee not, rained all goddamn day. I heard American Airlines cancelled all flights into and out of DFW. I think it said some 700 flights were affected. Mucho sucko.

Thinking of playing FF12 again. It's too bad it's not widescreen, but oh well.

(Also I want to kill Will. I've had a Decemberists song stuck in my head for days and I don't usually even like their stuff.)

Spent the afternoon playing Professor Layton. Spent the evening playing Rock Band with Will, Phil, Josh, and Andrew. Goooood tiiiimes.

Also Josh saw my 1/2 done "Fuck the Dumb Shit" cross-stitch (I just started the words, so it said "FUC" and he was like "... What are you putting on here?!" "Fuck the Dumb Shit" "Oh. That's what I thought it said. O_O"

Have a nice new trackball mouse, the Logitech Marble Mouse. It's ambidexterious, it pretty much nullifies my wrist pains, and it has a back button! woo!

Also DMC4 is pretty damn awesome so far. (I am not playing, I am watching David play. Much better for my blood pressure)

(break for dinner)

Also I have discovered knitting rings. This is awesome. Woo! Maybe next I'll add beads to the mix. Hmmm....
