OKAY! SO! GOOD NEWS! The doctor/oral surgeon said that the swelling and lump was due to bleeding under the surface, and since it has gone away, is not to be worried about. There will be no antibiotics or return visits, and he showed me how to stretch my mouth to get it opening proper again. He says that the whole mouth thing is really common and just needs to be stretched, but I was too afraid to stretch it till the Dr. said okay. So I can go back to soda and straws and eating whatever the damn hell I want! WOO!

... I am so happy! I got new sandals in celebration they are awesome and comfy!

Today I made pajama pants! For Dave! they are very soft and very boring boy fabric. alas. It's all his fault though, I told him to pick his own fabric. I cut out the pieces for MY pair, and mine is an awesome piratey print. :D

tomorrow I get to go back to the oral surgeon and they get to poke me in the mouth and determine what the hell's going on. (aparently they didn't actually change my appt from a follow-up to a surgery, so they're gonna look at it and see first, and then if needed start digging) I'm hoping that it's something fast, because if I have to be on antibiotics for a week and then go back, I am gonna be SO cranky. It is NOT easy for me to get to Mesquite, especially during the day. But it is pretty useless telling doctors that cause it just goes in one ear and out the other.

As I was telling Dave today I am SO tired of all this restricted shit. I just want to get back to normal, SO BADLY.

Also people, why aren't you reading the Dresden books by Jim Butcher!?! They're great!

things that are not cool - late saturday night my right cheek swelled up again, and it's barely gone down. This makes eating haaaaard, as well as being painful and generally no fun at all. And it makes me look like a lopsided chipmunk.

dave however got lumines for the 360 and I have yarn and egg dye to play with, so I think if I can keep icing my face I should be okay.

[edit] also there really should be some sort of mood icon thingie I could use for "pathetic" cause MAN, do I ever feel pathetic. I can only open my mouth a fraction (about 1/4 ) of normal, the antibiotics I have to take make me kinda queasy, chewing HURTS and is far more effort than it should be (that is to say, it makes my swolen cheek hurt, not the tooth-holes), and it's pretty damn hard to do anything with a bag of ice held to your face. that is to say, I are horribly patheitc and miserable and I'm gonna complain about it! waaaah.

[EDIT EDIT] called the oral surgeon at mom's instance and they said it's prolly a cyst what is causing the swelling, so I need to come in for sure on Thursday, or earlier if it gets bad bad, and they'll have to go in and remove the cyst. bleeegh. oh well. I guess my recovery time is going to take longer after all!

I forgot to tell you all! Tuesday evening when Dave got home from work, he came bearing an adorable stuffed bunny for me! I named her Thyme, since she's the same model (but different color) than my stuffed bunny named Basil. He said he wanted to get me something with big buck teeth, but he couldn't find a beaver, and he got me a walrus for Valentines. I am perfectly pleased with another bunny!

Now if only I could find a stuffed Sweetooth from Viva Pinata. XD

Mouth update - I can now eat real food again! My cheeks and jaw is sore from where it was all stretched so they could get in there, but I have been cleared to start eating normal stuff again, provided I rinse my mouth with saltwater after I eat and I don't eat hard crunchy things, or things with sharp edges. Those I need to wait till things are more closed up. but man. Chewing is kind of painful, and I can't open my mouth all the way cause of the sore muscles. :( I also can't have stringy food yet either, so no chicken.

Mwa-ha-ha-ha! I finally got Dave to start watching Gokusen with me! Woooo! Man, that show is so funny!

hokay, today could have been a lot worse. The actual procedure was over very very quickly, went very smoothly, and I didn't feel a thing, hooray! this afternoon things were starting to ache, so I started on their pain meds, and took the reccommended dose of 2 lortab to start with. That started the misery. That was WAAAAY too much, and I spent most of the afternoon heaving up what little food and beverage I had consumed, and then just dry heaving. Not fun. But I'm better now - I switched to ibprofen, since it doesn't really hurt too bad, and then maybe I'll take one of those if things REALLY hurt. In fact, so far I've consumed a bowl of egg drop soup what Dave fetched for me, and am LOVING this peach-mango applesauce and not even a flutter from the belly! yay!

me sockets ache, but the bleeding's stopped, and at the moment the MOST sore thing is my jaw hinge - MAN they must have had my mouth open WIDE. I am icing that, periodicially, so that's okay.

It's my LJ and I'll bitch if I want to!

So our apartment is really nice in that you really can't hear your neighbors, at all. At most you might hear the person upstairs vaccuming, and you can hear the water rushing from the uptairs apartment in the bathroom. So, this leads me to believe that the person living in the apartment what shares a wall with our bedroom must have their phone ring turned up REALLY REALLY loud. Cause we could hear it. In bed. starting at like, 3 am. I kept incorporating that noise into my dreams. Finally I woke up somewhere around 5am and could not get back to sleep. I laid there awake till dave got up and started about getting ready. This was actually incredebly soothing and I passed right out, but sleep was fitful after that point. (The only thing I can think of is I'm both used to sleeping through those noises, and ritual habitual things are comforting and thus induce sleep) (I also blame Sly for some of the fitful sleep because he kept attacking my feet. )

that is to say - god I'm tired. the impending teefs pulling has me stressed so eating is a chancy proposal, and I'm worn out from worrying about OH GOD PEOPLE WITH IMPLEMENTS IN MY MOUTH, OH GOD IT'S EXPENSIVE, OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD. (Anxiety is fun! I don't even have many logical good reasons as to why I'm freaked out, really, but I am! :D ) also my tummy hurts, my tooth what broke kinda hurts (only that dull ache, but it's getting seriously distracting) and I've had a headache for days (which may be related to the broken tooth). I'm going to go lie on the couch, yes I am! Good Ikea couch what is comfy and yay! One day I shall sew you more throw pillows, couch.

And don't worry - at this point complaining is my coping and keeps me from raving and screaming and generally being a mess. but soon this will all be over! hooray!

So one of the ladies that comes to the monthly library knitting things does Victorian Bead Knitting (namely thimble bags and the occasional evening bag) and she said she sells kits. After watching her work on them for a while, it's kind of stupid easy - and I REAAAALLY want to try it. *sigh* Well, I've always loved beads! :D

No real change in mouth news - my gums and tongue back there are sore where they rub against the broken spot, but no real pain. I have, however, woken up with a nasty headache a couple days in a row. Most uncool.

Dave's sister brought me a bag of dried rosepetals from Austin to put in tea. You think I sound crazy but it is TASTY.

I think I will go play Viva Pinata now. I haven't had a chance to in the past couple days. Dave's been playing Earth Defense Force 2017, and it's just so awesome I couldn't kick him off the 360 so I could play things.

funny funny thing: I was telling Dave about all the oral surgery stuff, and I was telling him that they siad that blood on the pillow the first night was expected and he was like "Oh good. but it'll probably be on my pillow. Or the walls, or all over the bed, or just, you know, dripping from the celing." he says this completely deapan. I nearly died of laughter.

Update on my mouth, cause I know you care - my appointment for the actual surgery is Tuesday morning, and all 4 wisdom teeth are coming out, since the top ones are in bad places(and one is developing a cavity) and the bottom two, one is broken, so the other might as well come out.

aaaaaaaaaaaaagh. I think Dave is taking Wednesday off to take care of me since I'll likely still be pretty out of it, and mom is gonna take me to the proceedings.
