Wheee-hee! Ordered a kindle today! So excited. I won't get it for a while because of backordered-ness, but that's okay. I only have today and tomorrow of work to get through before the weeeeekend! 10 days in a row of working every day is more than I can stand without much complaint. I would very much like to go back to shelving again, so long as it's not children's. Don't have to deal with patrons and it's nice and quiet.

I must make an ikea shopping list. Need a coffee table and I would like some lamps and possibly a new comforter. Ve shall see.

Dear depressive downswing,

Go fuck yourself.  I am nearly positive I am only this down because work is crazy and hot. Once I have some days where I don't have to go in I will be much happier. Until Friday night suck it up and stick it out. In the meantime I will do my best not to have another tiny meltdown because there were options in my plan for the evening.

I am ignoring you,
Me

In other news I need to remember to take Vir through the car wash tomorrow. He is covered in tree sap because I have been parking under at tree at work to keep him from becoming an oven in this heat. I think even the trees are sweating at this point. Also need to remember to take a load of books back to work tomorrow too. I'm gonna go to Goodwill either this weekend or tomorrow and do some clothes shopping. I need some shorts and maybe some skirts or shirts if I find anything awesome I can modify.

Got a couple questions, LJ land

1.) Anybody with 2 iPhones on the same plan? (like a family plan) how does that work, charges-wise? Do you have to pay the data plan per iPhone?

2.) Gonna get me a rice cooker, hopefully. The Japanese store has Zojurishi ones (wif the elephant logo) for about $115. Any horror stories about their fuzzy logic cookers?

I feel all accomplished. I have a whole workweek's worth of lunches and dinners planned, and a monthly grocery list to be added to by brief fresh veggie runs every week. It won't be EXACTLY living on $5 a day, but it's close, methinks. Which will be pretty spiffy, if we can pull it off. It DOES mean I will be cooking more, but if I'm smart I'll do most of the prepwork when I buy the veggies, leading to less work when it is cooking time. Plus leftovers equal lunch in a day or so which is also good and saves me effort. I'm going to try and get on the bento bandwagon again. It's a really handy way of portion control, and I have a bunch of boxes anwyay.

I am gonna need some food-storage containers. It is so much cheaper to buy the dry food goods in bulk. Hmm. I wonder if Ikea ships those or if I'd have to go to the store.

[ETA] Wow, this was handy. We just discovered our power bill is twice what it normally is. Thank goodness I already have the stuff for dinner for the rest of the week. O_O;

  • Remain vitamin and medicated up. Gotta kick whatever this is's ass.

  • finish the Zunesock, but the pocket for headphones can wait if necessary.
  • work on Noro Striped Scarf (I have been infected too. fleeeee for your liiiives. Also I am really loving Silk Garden.)
  • sleep. lots oif it.
  • cook at least once, if not twice, actual meals.
  • make it to 68 and bound gleefully for Northrend.

Rain rain rain rain. Hafta go grocery shopping today, that will be plesant getting the stuff in the car in teh rain. Must remember to bring the re-useable bags too. They hold more than the plastic ones, and the handles make it easy to get everything in one trip.

Must remember to decorate them so they are easily identified as mine.

Whee, actually managed to score a couple shirts from threadless during the sale (sadly I am never in time to get pillow fight when it is in stock). Hooray new clothes!!

Having an odd yarn-based slump, creatively speaking. Maybe I'll stick to cross stitch for the time being. Hm.

It has, I shit thee not, rained all goddamn day. I heard American Airlines cancelled all flights into and out of DFW. I think it said some 700 flights were affected. Mucho sucko.

Thinking of playing FF12 again. It's too bad it's not widescreen, but oh well.

(Also I want to kill Will. I've had a Decemberists song stuck in my head for days and I don't usually even like their stuff.)

Yesterday was pretty damn awesome. Mom and I went furniture shopping as I wanted a bedside table (I had finally had enough of using cardboard boxes as a table) and she wanted either an ottoman or a coffee table. LO! At a thrift/consignment store we acheived victory! I got a really badass and well-made bedside table for $10, and she got a nice wheeled ottoman of perfect height for $16. Granted we're both going to be asthetically modifying our purchaces but daaaaaamn. Such savings! :D

.. and then we went and watched 300 and had a ROUSING good time of it. And then I made mom watch an episode and a half of Avatar. Cause it was on.
