I decided that I need to start both getting up earlier in the day and eating breakfast. To that end I bought a loaf of bread and some jelly - toast will be a fine breakfast. And looking at all the breads available I saw that familiar yellow packaging, and went for it. See, I was raised on wheat bread. White bread wasn't even MENTIONED at my house. It was the DEVIL. My parents bought Home Pride buttered split top wheat bread. Sandwiches, toast, everything. WHEAT BREAD. So I'm totally having a nostalgia trip because of the bread I bought.

Also man, I had no idea fruit spreads were so complicated. I need to research the differences between jelly, jams, preserves, marmalades, and fruit curds.

I also got the new Abney Park album - Aether Shanties. JOY.

Dinged 68, headed up to Borean Tundra in Northrend. I love Northrend. All the epic story shit. Plus now I have appropriately badass armor again. It's just not right for a Death Knight to be running around in the "not-pants" leggings things.

Am mildly dismayed at the Zune Marketplace's lack of selection in forign music. No Namie Amuro? Seriously? *sigh*

I just realized I have no icon of my Death Knight. This must be remedied.

Whee, actually managed to score a couple shirts from threadless during the sale (sadly I am never in time to get pillow fight when it is in stock). Hooray new clothes!!

Having an odd yarn-based slump, creatively speaking. Maybe I'll stick to cross stitch for the time being. Hm.

It has, I shit thee not, rained all goddamn day. I heard American Airlines cancelled all flights into and out of DFW. I think it said some 700 flights were affected. Mucho sucko.

Thinking of playing FF12 again. It's too bad it's not widescreen, but oh well.

(Also I want to kill Will. I've had a Decemberists song stuck in my head for days and I don't usually even like their stuff.)

Today has been a good day for finishing. Last week I was digging through my yarn stash and I came across an incomplete Booga Bag. The base and a couple of the 5-row stripes were done, so I pulled it out and resoved to finish it off. Day before yesterday I actually started working on it as something mindless to do, and now it is done and felted and drying on a couple of books wrapped in plastic bags. Also finished a crochet doily I'd been working on, hooray! Now I'm gonna start on a phone-holder-case-thingy.

Got a bunch of yarn yesterday with my birthday money to make MORE stuff, always good.

I would also like to point out how much I love the mp3 section on Amazon. Dear god the joy I have found there! Thankee [livejournal.com profile] selie for the gift certificate! It has been put to good use procuring the odd stuff I like to listen to! (I found another artist that does modern-style Tsugaru-Shamisen music! YAY!)

My natal celebration went well. Fun was had by all! I got a Creative Zen Stone, and a gift card to JoAnn's so I am a happy Jen. I have been told there is Amazon music in the offing which is great! Also got the first volume of St Lunatic High, which is adorable and goth and hilarious, and I thought the art was done by the Disgaea person at first.

I have a metric fuckton of veggies left over from the party, but that's okay - it means I don't have to buy them at the grocery store! (I did however forget to buy pickling agent at the japanese store, so I will have to see if the asian supermarket has it. I think they do.)

(Oh god I only got like 4 hours of sleep and then I woke up and my head/everything hurt so I couldn't get back to sleep and now I'm hungry and bored. Maybe I'll risk the noise of cutting up an apple to eat. Dave is too cute to awaken early.)

I wonder if I could convince Dave to take me to the big JoAnn's on Forest...

Finally got another game for my psp - Warriors of the Lost Empire. It's a pretty decent hack-n-slash - the translations pretty bad, but it fully delivers in the hacking and slashing department. Heck, you can even revisit dungeons you've cleared, just to get more items. And it is a nice break from Tactics. I love Tactics SO dearly, especially now the plot is clearer, but when I'm tired or I'm feeling antsy strategy is not my forte.

Also I'm having a brief spurt of obsession with Hairspray, so please excuse the stupid peppy songs sung by the occasional teen-star. Also may I say that James Marsden has a really nice singing voice. And is much hotter when he's not playing Cyclops.

I also got a UMD of Labyrinth, because it was $5 and it was LABYRINTH, COME ON. So now when I'm feeling miserable in the morning because my neck is killing me I can lay in bed and watch Labyrinth.

I am torn. My mother much espouses the wonders of the Yahoo Launchcast, and from what I could see of it it does look pretty awesome. The kicker, however, is it doesn't work with Firefox. At all. it gives me a message saying it doesn't work with Netscape (wtf) on Widows, thxbai. Which means I would have to use the dreaded IE. *shudder* So for the moment I am making do with the Winamp radio stations (which can be somewhat .... varied... in quality.)
