my thoughts on Sky1's Going Postal: I love Adora Belle. I do not like the Moist. Vetinari is good. Angua was lovely. Not entirely sure I like the treatment, but I've only seen part one. I LOVE the Clacks towers though. LOVE.

The time has come to consider whether or not I want to go out tonight. Part of me wants to stay home and watch Pride and Prejudice over and over and maybe Kamikaze Girls if I can find it somewhere, and camp on the couch with my knitting and a pile of dark chocolate and plums. The rest of me says I will have a good time if I can force myself to go out and hang with people.

The Red Army is invading again for the first time in 2 or 3 years. It is, and I will give BC this, MUCH better than it used to be. It is amazingly light. The cramps and the constantly feeling like I have to pee I could do without. I'm sure I should have expected cramps after those bits have sat idle for years, but yargh. Sometimes I cannot remain upright because it hurts worse. *sigh* At least I have 3 months before I have to do this again. And I have never had to pee so often in my life. God. :(

Nyargh. Fire alarm testing tomorrow. Hopefully they will actually get to my apartment tomorrow (they should since I'm the 4th apartment in the building) and that they come after 10 am so I will actually be dressed and awake. I will be very unhappy if they don't get to me tomorrow because Friday I will be out for most of the day owing to me taking the DART to see Hellboy2. Sly doesn't like loud noises OR strangers, and if I'm not around when said strangers or noises are he's skittish for days. Best to avoid if possible.

Also stupid DART and it's half-hour between busses schedule. >:( It will take about an hour to an hour and a half to get to the theater, and it's the closest god damn one. (It's a 15-20 minute drive, if I had a car.)

  1. Today I bought 3.25yds of a grey linen/rayon fabric with a tiny rosebud print to make an ankle-length half-circle skirt to wear this summer. I have a similar skirt I love dearly, but it is wool and far far far too hot to wear anymore. I may have to go to Mom's so I have help doing the bottom hem.

  2. Still have bloody snot, so I am gonna talk to Mom tomorrow and see if she can swing taking me to the doctor (Dave's week is full of meetings).

  3. I am eating a cup of miso soup with egg noodles. It is tasty, but powdered miso is never as good as the real thing. I may go munch on an artichoke as well.

  4. The mail may have potentially lost a Netflix DVD. If so I will be realllly unhappy.

  5. Getting ready to apply a couple places again, I will either luck out or continue as I have been. (if I do get a job I start saving for either a scooter or to buy Mom's car off her thus getting her the down payment on a new car)

  6. Dave has to go to bed early and thus has to get up early but I am so not tired. Maybe I will stay up and watch something.

[EDIT] You have no idea how much I want one of these -> LED SHOWER LIGHT

Went and saw Iron Man with a bunch of boys(you know who you are). :D Witty Dialog! Good graphics! Gywneth Paltrow being adorable! Robert Downey Jr.! In all seriousness, it was very good and very well done. :D I wanna see it again! WITTY DIALOG.

And I think I may have a crush on Tony. My god but the looks he gives Pepper! SWOON. I am a sucker for dark brown eyes.

There is a Teavana store in Northpark mall. You have no idea how happy that makes me. I got some tea, it is glorious smelling. It tastes good too, but I just want to sit there and smell it.

Got God of War for the PSP. I made it through an entire level before I hit my first "I have no idea how to solve this puzzle" room. Good times. It is suprisingly very God of War, even if it does fit in my purse. (I think I confused the counter guy at Gamestop when we bought it cause he asked if we wanted a bag, and I said "No, I'm gonna tear into it.")

Wrist is giving me vague twinges, but the application of the new brace seems to be doing me a lot of good. Now if I can just figure out what to do so my brace will stop catching on the power slider for the psp and turing my psp off while I'm playing.

Watched Enchanted. It was cute, it was funny, and lord almighty I have never seen so many homages to classic Disney before in my life. (Not to mention the background billboards mostly being plays or movies the actors have been in.) (Also the bit where the actresses who played Ariel and Belle were in the movie too.)

Finally got another game for my psp - Warriors of the Lost Empire. It's a pretty decent hack-n-slash - the translations pretty bad, but it fully delivers in the hacking and slashing department. Heck, you can even revisit dungeons you've cleared, just to get more items. And it is a nice break from Tactics. I love Tactics SO dearly, especially now the plot is clearer, but when I'm tired or I'm feeling antsy strategy is not my forte.

Also I'm having a brief spurt of obsession with Hairspray, so please excuse the stupid peppy songs sung by the occasional teen-star. Also may I say that James Marsden has a really nice singing voice. And is much hotter when he's not playing Cyclops.

I also got a UMD of Labyrinth, because it was $5 and it was LABYRINTH, COME ON. So now when I'm feeling miserable in the morning because my neck is killing me I can lay in bed and watch Labyrinth.
