So, is it sad when I get excited about unexpected but delightful shipping for my own character? My poor little changeling from 1906, so out of place in 2010! She is going to exist in a state of adorable flusteredness.

Herein lies the journal entry of my Changeling character, please pay no mind. You can read it if you want to.character journal )

my thoughts on Sky1's Going Postal: I love Adora Belle. I do not like the Moist. Vetinari is good. Angua was lovely. Not entirely sure I like the treatment, but I've only seen part one. I LOVE the Clacks towers though. LOVE.

So trillian astra is out. I should give it a look. Just discovered digsby has been naughty, so pondering my very limited options. I hate pidgin (too hard to make pretty) and I switched off trillian because of memory use but that's not really a problem anymore. Hm. Thoughts?

Also after checking out pretty much every complex in Richardson, we're staying here. However we will be moving to a 2 bedroom here. Wheeee~~ that will be in early October.

boy thinks I should get an eye exam. I am inclined to agree. Getting more and more farsighted as I age, and I can't read for as long before developing a headache. :( I have a nasty one right now but I don't know if it's because I've been reading http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/ for a few hours and it's eyetrain or the usual headache. It is also hard to focus my eyes right now. Alas.

Favorites from SCP foundation so far include http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-294 and http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-914

Watched Bram Stoker's Dracula last night with Boy's sister. Man. I LUST after Winona Rider's wardrobe in that movie. Unf.

So very exhausted. Was visiting Boy's family all day, and man it's exhausting when I am visiting my OWN family, let alone visiting ones where I have to watch what I say. (no cussing and no "liberal" perspective.) Also hot. Do they not believe in air conditioning? augh. Had a nice cool soak and I am feeling better. Waiting now for the washer to beep, so I can put the laundry in the dryer and go to bed.

Spent today playing WoW and cursing my reproductive organs. I enjoy greatly the fact that Mialu IS a fully formed character in my head, so it's not just grinding. She has a personality. Not really that I run into many people, but it IS an RP server, so I could get away with things. :D She will shank you if you hit on her though. Especially if it is a poorly done come-on.

Have I mentioned I am having a period(full fledged) on an active pill cycle? I am LIVID.

Also got some speakers so I can listen to Pandora and so forth whilst I am working on stuff at home. A surprisingly nice Logitech 3pc set for under $30, plus I remembered to get a card reader for Kosh so I am all set now.

Had today unexpectedly off due to crazy shit going down from a VIP cliet of the Boss's. May or may not have to go in tomorrow, but will have work to do regardless. And get paid, which is nice.

I am going to get SO spoiled having mom's car for a week. I mean, I can just GO if I need to go somewhere, there's no logistics involved. AND I don't have to get up but an hour before I have to be at work, which is GLORIOUS.

I have a headache. Gonna get off the comp.

... I cannot believe I am doing this. BUT.

I require 10th Doctor/Rose fic.

Oh god this is a place I never thought I'd go (Doctor Who, REALLY?!?!) and to be entirely frank the fandom TERRIFIES ME (and has since I was 18 and had to deal with those batshit Doctor Who fans who bought the Doctor Who magazines at Lone Star) BUT I NEED IT. I'm just about to finish season 2 and my HEART. What fic I have found is rubbish and I need suggestions of where to go or look or who to read for good stuff. HELP.

Oh god help me I am fangirling over BRITISH SCI FI. I've never been here before! I've only ever liked Hitchhikers, and that was only the books!(and the recent movie)

So I've been reading kindle books on my iphone. This has been an effective test for if I want an actual kindle. It is DAMN handy to be able to read whatever, whenever, whilst I am out and about in the world. Since I am currently knitting a lace shawl, it requires too much brain to do on a train when I need to be able to just stop that second so I can get off, having something to read always with me is nice.

Granted, I AM a gadget whore, and want a kindle just for the sheer niftiness of it.

Lace shawl: Currently working on a Shipwreck, in Brooks Farm yarn. ( Ravelry Link ) On the second section on lace. Not hard, but I do have to pay attention.

Apartment search is now a decision between 2 complexes - one the floorplans are kind of boring and generic, but cheap. The other is a better floorplan, but more expensive.  They're about the same in size.  I do have to say the living rooms are very poorly designed in the Former complex. All these weird angles.

It has been raining/rainy for days. While I'm sure the rain is good for us, I'm feeling HELLA blah. Headaches too.  I have been catching up on my sleep though since it never really gets light in the bedroom on days like this so I have no indication the sun has risen other than the clock.

Been playing Pokemon off and on. I love my lineup but I freely admit I play for the cute, not the building a badass team.

Right, I do believe it's bedtime. Work tomorrow for the first time this week, boss-lady has been very busy with some charity fashion show she was sort of drafted for, so I haven't gone in this week. Booo lack of money.

Friday: Discovered much to my dismay that fried foods REALLY don't like me (woe), then when I was feeling better went over to Will's for an evening of Drunk Fighter(Street Fighter Drinking game: Take a drink every time you win a match). While I didn't drink due to recently upset tummy, Boy got ROYALLY and MAGNIFICENTLY smashed. Which was fine until we got home at 4am and he proceeded to start on being VERY violently ill and then hung over. So I was up till 6 am pulling sickie duty until he could get to sleep.

Saturday: Woke up around 11am. Went to check on Boy (who was camped on the couch for fear of movement). Still miserable. Spent the afternoon nursing him back to humanity. around 5 he was capable of food again. Headed out to Sherman around 6pm(with Boy's blessing) for a 1-shot Hunter: the Vigil campaign. (shut up. When run well White Wolf doesn't give me hives.) Had a great deal of fun dealing with cultists and demons and Zombies. Game wrapped up around 6:45am. loaded up on coffee and drove home. Got home around 8am. Was so tired it hurt to move by that point. Stumbled to bed and passed out.

Sunday: Woke up at noon. Still tired but developing a headache so the best cure was to get up and do. Since I had to cancel Mom and my's lunch plans on Saturday due to needing to take care of Boy, IM'd Mom and said we could try again today, but I am very sleep lacking so I may be kind of goofy. Headed out to Mesquite with her with season 1 of Burn Notice. Ate, went back to the house for SPIES, SPOOKS, and HILARITY, and I'm pretty sure I passed out on the couch for a bit. Went back to Richardson, grabbed food since Boy was on a Raid and I would not want to go out again or cook, and came home and crashed.

I am feeling better today, but lawsy. The kitchen's a mess and I am STARVING. I guess I should get on that.

Mom has lent me Carnivale to watch and I am thus-far enamored. She explained the basic plot to me and then was like "And the Kurgan's the Priest! :D" to which I boggled. (Highlander is on my mother's yearly rewatch list along with Conan, Terminator, The Princess Bride, and Last Crusade) So anyway I was listening to him talk (and watching) and I was like "... I know that deep charming and persasive yet slightly menacing voice. .... LEX LUTHOR OMG!!!" And that actor did/does indeed play Lex Luthor in the animated DC universe.
