Backup woes solved - Dave ended up buying new HDDs so I can just install vista on one of this old HDD and thus save me the cleaning up woes. I will still likely end up formatting my current C drive, just because. Now if I can just wrangle more memory and a new monitor I will be the happiest camper.

My japanese pattern book and yarn came today. Woo!

Doctor appointment Monday. While I am not looking forward to it because of the sticking that will take place (they have to do bloodwork) I'm hoping the weight loss at least will make them happy, and maybe I won't have to change my blood pressure meds (since likely whatever it will be will be not as inexpensive). Also I hope my doc will let me switch my BC meds without an exam.

Woke up uncommonly early today. I think I will watch some TV before doing anything useful. Do not like waking up at 8 and being unable to go back to sleep.

Ordered a tawashi book and some antibacterial yarn from etsy. Oh Japan, you so crazy.

Still want to buy a crapton of the hemp yarn and make things with it. Namely a clapotis, but I could settle for a hat and maybe like, a tank top or something.

Got:

  • New silverware

  • various and sundry kitchen implements

  • tv-bench

  • side table

  • Huge damn tv. :D DLP. :D (see tv bench)

  • Professor Layton and the Curious Village My god, I spent 3 hours playing earlier and did not notice the time passing. It makes my brain hurt on occasion. Game = Brain age with a plot

Not to mention the crochet things I'm working on, another knit/felted purse, AND a cross-stitch chart from the Subversive Cross Stitch book (Fuck the Stupid Shit).

And I have movies to watch. Eee, hehehe.

Now! To wait to put a fresh load of laundry in! Meantimes I will eat lunch! hooray!

My crafting goes in phases - I'll be on a huge knitting binge for months and months, never touch the crochet hooks unless it's picking up dropped stitches. And then, like some tiny person in the yarn-focused portion of my brain flips a switch and it's all crochet all the time!

This time I think it's I've hit the point where I am so unbelieveably sick of cold weather and having to wear socks and coats that I refuse to work on warm-making things. And since most of what I crochet is either amigurumi or bags, with the occasional home-decor bits thrown in, it is what I gravitate to when that period hits. So! I have a nice pattern for a lacy crochet shrug to wear with my tanktops when indoors so I am not on occasion freezing. I have a book of amigurumi patterns. And my knitting will just have to languish a while.

And I got the Subversive Cross Stitch book on a whim. Hehehe.

Today has been a good day for finishing. Last week I was digging through my yarn stash and I came across an incomplete Booga Bag. The base and a couple of the 5-row stripes were done, so I pulled it out and resoved to finish it off. Day before yesterday I actually started working on it as something mindless to do, and now it is done and felted and drying on a couple of books wrapped in plastic bags. Also finished a crochet doily I'd been working on, hooray! Now I'm gonna start on a phone-holder-case-thingy.

Got a bunch of yarn yesterday with my birthday money to make MORE stuff, always good.

I would also like to point out how much I love the mp3 section on Amazon. Dear god the joy I have found there! Thankee [livejournal.com profile] selie for the gift certificate! It has been put to good use procuring the odd stuff I like to listen to! (I found another artist that does modern-style Tsugaru-Shamisen music! YAY!)

realized I haven't posted in a while.

Picked up both Tetris DS and Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and both are proving to be awesome good times. Tetris DS for it's mad multiplayer capabilities, and Wind Waker because it's both cute AND a damn good fun time. Hooray for trading in a bunch of stuff and having a crapload of store credit.

Moving in about 2 weeks to the new place with Dave. Exciting. And I really need to get started on the whole "packing" thing. Ahahahahaha.

Picked up crochet again, if only because I really really want to make some of those cute amigurumi things. Having actually managed to translate the pattern for myself from the chinese book it came from, this should be fun. Asian pattern books use charts and diagrams instead of written-out patterns. I am quite incapable of being accurate with a chart most of the time. So I had to write it out into a written pattern. Heh.

Uhhhhh... that's about it, really... I've not really been all that exciting lately.
