Really need to get off my ass and get cracking on my halloween costume. Order the supplies for the corset, start on the coat. There's part of me that wants to chicken out and just do the mens driving coat instead of the long ladies one, but I dunno. And I REALLY need to order the watch parts this weekend so I know I will have them in time to make the appropriate stuff.

Really I just wish I had space to spread out and a cutting table so I don't murder my back pinning and cutting out the coat. At least I'm doing it out of felt so it won't be a bitch to work with. no fraying.

Job is awesome though I stabbed myself but GOOD with a pin today. Deep and at an angle RIGHT on the pad of my index finger.  Ow.

There was a wonderful Texas Thunderstorm a little while ago. Then it stopped raining and it was just a lightning storm. (as in flashes every couple of seconds for at least 10 minutes straight.) :D I love that kind of weather! At least when I don't have to be anywhere!

Tomorrow is for crochet and Angelic Layer and a bit of cookery. Got one of those fancy-ass Japanese rice cookers and so far it has not done me wrong.  The timer function is godly. The rice is cooked and done by the time I get up in the morning? Or by the time I get home from Work? AWESOME. Going to make garlic pasta with veggies tomorrow for lunch. trying to avoid oils and fatty foods to see if that helps my tummy any. Today's lunch of onigiri with umeboshi, strawberries, and grape tomatoes was eaten with nary a flutter from the tummy regions after wards. Which reminds me I need to go get more strawberries. I got the carton just to eat yesterday but they work really well in a bento box.  Plus they are on sale. Maybe some other fruit.

Plan for this weekend:
  • Remain vitamin and medicated up. Gotta kick whatever this is's ass.
  • Go on grocery run which may necessitate a run to the Chinese megagrocery if the Japanese store has no kamabuko or aburaage or hijiki seaweed (I is making udon and homemade inarizushi, the canned stuff is too sweet)
  • finish the Zunesock, but the pocket for headphones can wait if necessary.
  • work on Noro Striped Scarf (I have been infected too. fleeeee for your liiiives. Also I am really loving Silk Garden.)
  • sleep. lots oif it.
  • cook at least once, if not twice, actual meals.
  • make it to 68 and bound gleefully for Northrend.

Siiick. Woke up yesterday morning with a sore throat, it progressed to a breif torrent of snot, then back to sore throated ness. Today went: knives in throat, vaccuums in my head from the snot shifting, throat less hurty except when I talk, no snot unless lying down, nose on FIRE it is so dry and painful to breathe, throat also not happy about the breathing thing, and now it seems I'm losing my voice. I've dropped down into "low and as quiet as I can go" *sigh* So my plans are becoming more and more fucked up. Hopefully I will be able to actually talk tomorrow, meaning I don't have to bail out of that game too. A humidifier might help but we cannot afford to drop the $40-$60 it will take to get a decent one ATM. alas.

Also I am feeling the urge to quilt. Make it stop.

right, it's about time for more ibprofen and a throat lozenge. and the mucinex. uuuuurgh.

My crafting goes in phases - I'll be on a huge knitting binge for months and months, never touch the crochet hooks unless it's picking up dropped stitches. And then, like some tiny person in the yarn-focused portion of my brain flips a switch and it's all crochet all the time!

This time I think it's I've hit the point where I am so unbelieveably sick of cold weather and having to wear socks and coats that I refuse to work on warm-making things. And since most of what I crochet is either amigurumi or bags, with the occasional home-decor bits thrown in, it is what I gravitate to when that period hits. So! I have a nice pattern for a lacy crochet shrug to wear with my tanktops when indoors so I am not on occasion freezing. I have a book of amigurumi patterns. And my knitting will just have to languish a while.

And I got the Subversive Cross Stitch book on a whim. Hehehe.

crap on a stick. The crochet bug has bitten me HARD. I think really the problem is I've been craving a new purse - so I went looking on ravelry for purses, and lo there was a crochet one that really caught my eye! *sigh* Well, I'll go through the yarn bin once I finish the doll and see if I've got the 3 or 4 different colors I can use to make it, in mostly whole balls. But before I can even start the purse I must finish the doll. It will be adorable!

Enough of this typing crap! Back to work! (What? It is a good distraction from the "OH GOD I COULD KILL FOR AN APPLE" cravings.)

Alas for games have to fall by the wayside for a bit - seasonal crafting is upon me and must take precedence. I'm still stuck on the last battle in chapter 8 of Revenant Wings - hopefully I can finish the tatted cross and go back to the game, but I have doubts. Ah well. Mom's set of gifts is by far the largest, but is the kind of thing I can keep in my purse and work on in spare moments, but the cross for Grandma doesn't travel well - I hafta pay attention.

Guh. I wish my head would stop hurting. Stupid snot-filled noggin! kurse you allergies.

Day 2 of the headache from hell. Ugh. Did discover that sleeping on my stomach made the awful neck-ache go away. (I was leery of mixing drowsy-making mucinex with my musclerelaxant. I dunno, maybe I'd sleep all day. Not good.) god I can't wait to be over this stupid thing.

Waiting for eps 10 & 11 to finish coming to me so I can have my Avatar fangasm before the long wait starts. (Damn you mid-season hiatuses!)

Chugging along on Percy - halfway through the front flap, and then I can start the strap/sides. That knitted on i-cord is amazing.

I have this pattern for cute little felt owlies, but I don't have buttons the right size for eyes. Alas.
