I would very much like to stop feeling so stressed and crunched for time. It is not helping this migraine I've had for days at all! Although it IS adding to the stress because I know I should stop and take it easy "BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT AAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH" and then it hurts worse and then I have to make a dash for the toilet.

Mantra for self: "Yes the stuff needs doing but hurting myself to get it done by my self-imposed deadline will only result in said things not getting done." repeat. "I will not stress over things not in my control" repeat.

stresses:
dishwasher is broken and practically every dish and pot we have is dirty. we have no dish rack. aaaaaaaaaaugh.
have to finish cleaning the living room
mop
scour rental sites to find possible apartment complexes to live in. (anybody know of one that searches duplexes and/or rental houses?)
make lunch for the next day
having enough time in the day to get everything done

Boy made me stay home from work today so I would REST and RELAX and I am trying hard but I keep thinking of all the things I SHOULD be doing if I wasn't such a lame-ass and taken down by a stupid fucking headache. I have no tolerance for my own limits, it seems.

I feel all accomplished. I have a whole workweek's worth of lunches and dinners planned, and a monthly grocery list to be added to by brief fresh veggie runs every week. It won't be EXACTLY living on $5 a day, but it's close, methinks. Which will be pretty spiffy, if we can pull it off. It DOES mean I will be cooking more, but if I'm smart I'll do most of the prepwork when I buy the veggies, leading to less work when it is cooking time. Plus leftovers equal lunch in a day or so which is also good and saves me effort. I'm going to try and get on the bento bandwagon again. It's a really handy way of portion control, and I have a bunch of boxes anwyay.

I am gonna need some food-storage containers. It is so much cheaper to buy the dry food goods in bulk. Hmm. I wonder if Ikea ships those or if I'd have to go to the store.

[ETA] Wow, this was handy. We just discovered our power bill is twice what it normally is. Thank goodness I already have the stuff for dinner for the rest of the week. O_O;

Plan for this weekend:
  • Remain vitamin and medicated up. Gotta kick whatever this is's ass.
  • Go on grocery run which may necessitate a run to the Chinese megagrocery if the Japanese store has no kamabuko or aburaage or hijiki seaweed (I is making udon and homemade inarizushi, the canned stuff is too sweet)
  • finish the Zunesock, but the pocket for headphones can wait if necessary.
  • work on Noro Striped Scarf (I have been infected too. fleeeee for your liiiives. Also I am really loving Silk Garden.)
  • sleep. lots oif it.
  • cook at least once, if not twice, actual meals.
  • make it to 68 and bound gleefully for Northrend.

  • I have rather too much fun playing the blackjack variation in MySimsDS. Oh well. My town seems to have hit a stopping point, alas. I think I have to go and be good at the various sports, and that just ain't happening. Oh well!
  • PICROSS. PLAY IT. LOVE IT. :D
  • Did a good bout of cleaning today, which was sorely needed. Of course, now my allergies hate me cause they don't like cleaning products, but so it goes.
  • Started the second pink stripy trekking sock today. Woo! These are prolly gonna end up being a favorite pair.
  • Want to amigurumi, but am running short of appropriate yarn. I am sensing a trip to the craft store is on the horizon, especially if there's a sale on.

Things remaining to be done today:

  • clean catbox

  • take out the trash

  • get mail

  • do dishes

  • 2nd load of laundry

  • walk over to the grocery store in hopes they have a couple things what are needed.

sadly, after doing the first batch of chores (clean kitchen and scrub bathroom, 1 load of laundry, make healthy lunch, vaccum) my "get up and go" has got up and gone. We'll see how much more of this I get done, but I may end up putting off the store and the trash till tomorrow. uuugh. *whine whine whine whine*
