EEEEE. My Kindle is set to ship tomorrow, which means I should have it Thursday or Friday! EEE! I am going through my fabric stores to find some nice ones to make the cover from. Or at least, fabrics that go together. Happi times!

I also have the new Professor Layton, so puzzle-solving glee ahead! Mmm Professor!

Dear depressive downswing,

Go fuck yourself.  I am nearly positive I am only this down because work is crazy and hot. Once I have some days where I don't have to go in I will be much happier. Until Friday night suck it up and stick it out. In the meantime I will do my best not to have another tiny meltdown because there were options in my plan for the evening.

I am ignoring you,
Me

In other news I need to remember to take Vir through the car wash tomorrow. He is covered in tree sap because I have been parking under at tree at work to keep him from becoming an oven in this heat. I think even the trees are sweating at this point. Also need to remember to take a load of books back to work tomorrow too. I'm gonna go to Goodwill either this weekend or tomorrow and do some clothes shopping. I need some shorts and maybe some skirts or shirts if I find anything awesome I can modify.

Have a gnarly respiratory infection, and am currently taking a cavalcade of drugs, which is quite the experience. Cough syrup knocks me out, steroids make me hyper and have hot flashes. And hungry. CONSTANTLY. *sigh*  The antibiotics don't seem to do much of anything except make me better, so that's something at least.

Hunter games going well. The one in the game with Bag-Head, if she plays her cards right she can hook up with at LEAST one member of a ska band who wear kilts and sneakers and nothing else. This is delightful for her. Deirdre continues to delight, even though she got attacked last night. MYSTERIOUS HAUNTED KNIFE! :D

Books and books and Dragon Age Awakening, and some Folklore. This is what I am doing in my spare time. Which there is a lot of because boss is moving to Austin, so I will be jobless come May. Fucking sucks, man. I loved this job.

So I've been reading kindle books on my iphone. This has been an effective test for if I want an actual kindle. It is DAMN handy to be able to read whatever, whenever, whilst I am out and about in the world. Since I am currently knitting a lace shawl, it requires too much brain to do on a train when I need to be able to just stop that second so I can get off, having something to read always with me is nice.

Granted, I AM a gadget whore, and want a kindle just for the sheer niftiness of it.

Lace shawl: Currently working on a Shipwreck, in Brooks Farm yarn. ( Ravelry Link ) On the second section on lace. Not hard, but I do have to pay attention.

Apartment search is now a decision between 2 complexes - one the floorplans are kind of boring and generic, but cheap. The other is a better floorplan, but more expensive.  They're about the same in size.  I do have to say the living rooms are very poorly designed in the Former complex. All these weird angles.

It has been raining/rainy for days. While I'm sure the rain is good for us, I'm feeling HELLA blah. Headaches too.  I have been catching up on my sleep though since it never really gets light in the bedroom on days like this so I have no indication the sun has risen other than the clock.

Been playing Pokemon off and on. I love my lineup but I freely admit I play for the cute, not the building a badass team.

Right, I do believe it's bedtime. Work tomorrow for the first time this week, boss-lady has been very busy with some charity fashion show she was sort of drafted for, so I haven't gone in this week. Booo lack of money.

It's not until I am listening to it (or discussing it with my Mother the Writer) that I really notice Terry Pratchett writes some seriously beautiful prose amidst the insightful looks into the way people work and the satire and all. I was listening to Going Postal (unabridged) and there was a section about the clacks towers that actually made me stop what I was doing and just listen intently to the art of words.

I am full of food and in that head-foggy state I get in when I've got a migraine but it is medicated into enough submission I am no longer miserable. Everything's kind of disconnected. It does not help that I have a had a kind of mental low-day wherein I am at a loss to work up the gumption to eat, let alone do anything other than sit or lie around. I ran errands earlier due to sudden ant infestation. Now that my head's gone foggy it's time to throw in the towel and just lie down and listen to my audiobooks and likely sleep.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better as Dave's sister is in town and she's coming over tomorrow. Gotta think of some Vegetarian/vegan friendly places we can take her. Damn that that sushi roll place was in Irving, it was so good.

If y'all could spare some good karma my way, I've applied at the local library to be a library page. Any good thoughts to help along me getting the job would be much appreciated! :D

Ah, not much else exciting has happened.... I've learned I'll actually eat cucumbers now, they're tasty enough. Got a couple more Dresden Files books.

Found an american version of a bento box at the grocery store today - for $6 I couldn't resist! I may go back and get the salad one, but that can wait a while. Also bought what extra I needed to make Japanese pickled Cabbage. Mmmmm pickled cabbage. :D Now I have food on the brain - trying to figure out if I wanna go ahead and cook tonight or just say screw it and make the bento lunch tomorrow since I'll be cooking to make the pickles anyway. Hmm hmm hmm. Doesn't help that I'm hungry anyway - been kind of a weirdly psudo-bottomless pit today. I eat a little, get full, wait an hour or two, get hungry again. very odd.

Got a flourescent bulb for the livingroom lamp, only to discover that due to the way the lamp's put together, it doesn't fit. Argh. So the new bulb went into the bedroom where it is kinda too bright, but oh well. Maybe I can make an extension-shade for it or something. This means we hafta go to home despot or something soon, but so it goes. I'm just WAY too tired of it being so dim in the living room. blah. Especially with all the rain we've been getting lately the livingroom's been so dark.

Been doing a lot of reading lately - rereading most of my Discworld books, actually, and it's such a nice change from staring at a screen all day. Of course my knitting urge has picked up dramatically again, so reading and knitting are kind of at odds at the moment. Ah well. I should get more audiobooks.

need to remember to do laundry tomorrow.

Today I made pajama pants! For Dave! they are very soft and very boring boy fabric. alas. It's all his fault though, I told him to pick his own fabric. I cut out the pieces for MY pair, and mine is an awesome piratey print. :D

tomorrow I get to go back to the oral surgeon and they get to poke me in the mouth and determine what the hell's going on. (aparently they didn't actually change my appt from a follow-up to a surgery, so they're gonna look at it and see first, and then if needed start digging) I'm hoping that it's something fast, because if I have to be on antibiotics for a week and then go back, I am gonna be SO cranky. It is NOT easy for me to get to Mesquite, especially during the day. But it is pretty useless telling doctors that cause it just goes in one ear and out the other.

As I was telling Dave today I am SO tired of all this restricted shit. I just want to get back to normal, SO BADLY.

Also people, why aren't you reading the Dresden books by Jim Butcher!?! They're great!

For my Richardson/Dallas peoples - the Borders on Coit and Arapaho closed down on the 24th. This is REALLY depressing because there aren't any real Borders close to us anymore. There's a Borders Express in Collin Creek, but they don't have near the selection. and Barnes and Noble pisses me off because they have really SHITTY selection sometimes. As is half the time they do not have the stuff I want to read. Maybe they are better now. :( I am really sad about this. I love Borders. :(

Finished Howl's Moving Castle(book). It was quite awesome, so I moved the movie up to the top of my Netflix queue and am awaiting it's arrival. And even if it's not like the book, that's okay. Miyazaki is always good. I had seen someone say that Howl was a great deal like Tamaki in Ouran, and I have to say, there is a similarity. Howl's not as.... dumb though.

Ran into a wee snag in my embroidery plans - I was planning on putting the White Tree of Gondor on a throw-pillow cover I'm making, but I don't have a big enough sheet of white transfer paper to get the whole thing down in one go - and there's no way I'd be able to match it up. So now I am considering my options. Alas, the geekery will have to wait.

Kind of in a state of creative overload at the moment though - I have a load of pretty fabric, I have some fun knitting things I'm working on, embroidery ideas, and I can't settle on anything. Can't decide on a design for more purses or whatnot, or an embroidery design, and the knitting's pretty tame (socks) but I have to stop myself from changing anything in THEIR patterns cause I know I wouldn't be happy with the changes. SO I just sit there and my brain whirls and eventually I throw up my hands and either read or play videogames. I think I will try and do that today. I have been neglecting my DS and that's sad.
