At it's simplest, it's a public bathroom. This is a fairly inaccurate mental image of the place, but it is a start. There's the sinks, around the bend are the stalls. And then there's another bend. More stalls. Sometimes another counterful of sinks. If you go far enough there are showers. Somewhere along the way you run into the first of who knows how many locker rooms. There is no end. Miles and miles of bathroom. Sometimes, it is clear this is not a well-tended bathroom. Moss grows on the walls. There are puddles on the floor, generally from spots where a toilet has split in half, or the sinks have been left to overflow. It's never filthy, just ill-kept. Usually the farther you go, the more moss, but this is not always true. Sometimes it starts at the beginning and gets worse. Sometimes everything is sparkling clean, no matter how far you travel. You are never alone. At times there seems to be a whole city in there with you, going about their lives, doing what needs doing, trundling along. Other times there are small groups seemingly living in isolated rooms. Regardless of the people, the snakes will keep you company. They are everywhere. Sometimes more, sometimes less, and occasionally you will find a room so full of snakes you cannot walk across it. If you ask, they will move, if a tad grudgingly. They glide through the maze, silent and if not friendly, then at least ambivalent. They come in all sizes, all breeds, and colors, many not entirely found in nature. You are always free to turn around and go back the way you came. No-one will stop you, and didn't you have something you needed to do, before you came in here to wash your hands?

Holy crap. That's kind of freaky, considering it's one of MY recurring dreams. O_O

Ever dream about an airport?

No, but that's probably because I've never flown anywhere and don't even know what they're like, haha.

I have two varieties of weird recurring bathroom dreams - one's the public restroom, and the other is a weird bathroom with lots of shower stalls and/or bathtubs. Sometimes the two will be mixed in one dream.

The public restroom dreams are usually frustrating and unpleasant (although not always), and the restrooms are usually in disrepair, and they're dirty and brown and I'll feel repulsed, and frequently things don't make sense at all - toilets on top of toilets (ordinary 2D thinking rarely applies - it's labyrinthine both backwards/forwards AND up/down), flooding, etc. Everything is usually very brown. Often it's crowded and people seem to just be hanging around for no apparent reason like it's a place to hang out, but sometimes it's emptyish. Generally I have somewhere to be and I'm frustrated that I can't find a stall or sink that works or is clean, and I'm starting to forget what I was even doing, etc.

The shower/bathtub dreams are usually pleasant, yet also frustrating - there'll be an infinite variety of really cool, elaborate tubs/showers (again, spread all out AND up/down), and I'll be delighted but won't be able to decide which I want to use, and often they don't work normally or are broken. This dream usually fits your "not filthy, but ill-kept" description, unlike my public restrooms. It's often dusty and things are often broken, but it's not gross. Usually these places are completely deserted except for me, but occasionally there are others there.

I have snakes show up regularly but not in these dreams. Snakes are associated w/knowledge and so is water, so maybe that has something to do w/yours...???

Huh! That is oddly similar! Must be one of those weird collective dream things.

I never seem to be frustrated in those dreams. Just exceedingly curious about what's around the next bend.

Maybe so! I've never heard anyone describe a similar dream until now, though, so I thought it was just my weirdo brain. Maybe I should post mine on my journal and see if anyone else has something like it.
